Neon Tetra

Neon tetras are small, brightly colored freshwater fish native to the Amazon basin, easily recognized by a reflective iridescent blue stripe along their body and a red stripe below it. They are peaceful, social, and popular in the aquarium hobby, and must be kept in schools of six or more to thrive. In aquariums, they grow to about 1.5 inches and prefer soft, acidic water with plenty of plants for hiding.
