Live Arrival Guarantee & Order Policies
At Golden State Discus, we take great care to ship healthy, live discus fish. We stand behind our products with this guarantee and clear rules for cancellations.
Live Arrival Guarantee
We guarantee your discus fish will arrive alive and in good health when shipped under standard conditions.
If a fish arrives dead on arrival (DOA):
We will refund the full cost of the deceased fish (excluding shipping charges), or offer a replacement/credit, once your claim is approved.
To qualify, you must meet these requirements exactly:
• Be present for delivery — You must receive the package on the first delivery attempt. If the carrier misses you and redelivers later, or if it’s left without your signature/acceptance, the guarantee does not apply (longer transit increases risk).
• Notify us immediately — Email lynda@goldenstatediscus.com within 2 hours of receiving your package (or as soon as you discover the issue). Include:
• A clear 15-second video of the deceased fish in the tank (showing it clearly, not moving).
• Your order number and any other details.
• Failure to notify within 2 hours or provide the required video will void the guarantee.
Claim process:
1. Send the email and video right away.
2. We review and may ask for more info (e.g., photos of the packaging).
3. If approved, we process a refund to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.
What this guarantee does NOT cover:
• Issues from incorrect delivery address, missed/redelivered packages, extreme weather after delivery, or improper acclimation/care once in your tank.
• Any problems beyond the day of arrival (we don’t guarantee health long-term after setup).
Order Cancellations
We understand plans can change, but once we start preparing your order (selecting and holding fish, packing, etc.), costs are incurred.
• Cancel anytime before shipping by emailing lynda@goldenstatediscus.com with your order number.
• 10% cancellation fee: Applies if you cancel after processing starts. This covers our administrative work, restocking/preparation, and opportunity costs (e.g., holding fish off the market for you).
• The fee is 10% of the order subtotal (excluding shipping and taxes).
• No cancellations after shipping — Once shipped, follow the Live Arrival Guarantee
We process refunds quickly to your original payment method.
