The Geophagus 'Red Head Tapajos' (Geophagus pyrocephalus) is a vibrant and relatively peaceful South American cichlid known for its distinctive appearance and unique "eartheater" behavior. Originating from the lower Rio Tapajós in Brazil, it is a popular and stunning addition to community aquariums.

  • Appearance: This species is highly valued for its striking coloration: adults develop a vivid reddish-orange head that contrasts beautifully with a shimmering, iridescent body featuring gold to green scales.
